Kalanda Mikowa” means: ''He who speaks of Clans'This is how contemporary Luapulans nick-named Bwana Ian George Cunnison , the author of My Ancestors and my People, the pristine English Translation of Ifikolwe Fyandi Nabantu Bandi. I have used the same idiom to title this book in memory of this eminent scholar and pioneer.

About me

Teacher /Lecturer in Modern Languages ( English and French).

I hold a Ph.D. in Translation Studies;  author of a doctoral Thesis*: A comparative Study of the translation of Wole Soyinka’s The Lion and The Jewel in French and its adaptation in  Chibemba (Paris III university, Sorbonne-nouvelle, 1997), long teaching experience at both High School & university level.
